WHEN Charlotte Rough joined TikTok in 2020, the 18-year-old thought it’d be a great place to share her amazing makeup transformations.
In the past two years, the talented makeup artist has amassed a whopping 75,000 followers.
But as with anything on the internet, it’s sadly opened her up to trolling too.
Speaking to the Mirror, Charlotte said she’s been called a Catfish by cruel trolls.
She explained: “I receive a lot of criticism and hate on those types of videos. I get called a ‘catfish’ mostly, which can be very harmful as it’s hinting that I can never look as good as I do with makeup on.
“I also experience a lot of ‘you only look good because you have 5000 pounds of makeup on’ comments, which are just ridiculous!

“At the start of the viral videos, it most definitely had a huge toll on my mental health. I was receiving death threats and thousands of comments that were calling me ‘ugly’ and ‘fat’. I have now learned to ignore the comments, and there is more love than hate!”
Earlier this month, the social media star – who boasts 74,000 followers – posted a video showing off her epic glow-up.
Showing off her glam transformation, Charlotte took part in a TikTok “POV” [point of view] trend where she pretended to ask a boy in school to prom – only for him to accept the invitation as a joke.
But in the narrative, Charlotte got the last laugh as the geeky girl she was playing at the start of the video looks like a “supermodel” by the end.
The 20-second clip opens with Charlotte completely barefaced and wearing her glasses.
As well as having her short hair casually slicked over to the side, the TikToker hadn’t yet pencilled in her brows either when she “asked him out”.
Overhauling her look, she added a dramatic eye look – consisting of a blue smokey eye and liquid eyeliner flicks.
What’s more, she also dramatically changed the shape of her face with heavy contouring and finished off with a pop of brown lipstick.

The video has since racked up over 812,000 views and left viewers absolutely stunned.
One replied: “You are the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen.”
Another added: “I AM OBSESSED WITH THE EYE MAKEUP.”
“Let’s go to prom like now,” a third wrote. “You are stunning even without makeup.”

Meanwhile, a fourth said Charlotte looked like a member of the gothic fictional Addams family – to which she replied: “I love this.”
“My jaw just hit the floor,” a fifth replied. “SLAAAAYYYY.”
